Collection: The Skyline Series | Tilt-Up Tall Verticals

The Skyline Series | Tall, Free-Standing

29, 33, or 37 Feet of Aperture. No Guys. One Person.

The Skyline Series is our tall vertical, built in two pieces: a DX Vertical base plus the 9-foot DX Whip, standing 29, 33, or 37 feet. Tilt-up install, no climbing, no radials, free-standing. The added aperture moves the 5/8-wave gain sweet spot down to the longer-haul bands; the 37-footer reaches it on 20 meters. Open DX Verticals for the unrestricted yard, HOA Flagpole versions that fly a flag. Bob teaches the physics. Greyline ships the height.

Shipping Now: The bench is current — most antenna systems are shipping in under a week. (Please allow up to 3 weeks, as always.)

Not sure whether 29, 33, or 37 fits your lot? Call us at 435-200-4902 and we will spec it in ten minutes — your lot, your wind, your bands, your HOA. A real person answers, and we would rather talk you into the right height than the tallest one.

Why It Is Called Tilt-Up

A tall antenna you cannot lower is a tall antenna you cannot maintain. That is why the Skyline is built around the Tilt-Up Base from the start: one bolt out, one loosened, and 37 feet comes down to waist height by yourself. No ladder. No climbing. No waiting on a neighbor.

An operator in Florida put it better than we ever have, writing about hurricane season: "Remove one bolt, loosen the other, and the antenna comes down easily and goes back up just as easy. It's now a one person job." — N3EQF

And it is not only for weather. Servicing a feedpoint, swapping a whip, checking a connector — all of it happens standing on the ground. Every Greyline antenna we have ever built can take a tilt base: the 2 inch base fits the current 12 to 28 ft line and every Skyline; a 2.25 inch base covers the legacy 28 footers. Nobody gets left out. See the Tilt-Up Base Kit →

The Whip Is Half the Antenna

Every Skyline is a DX Vertical base plus the 9 ft DX Whip — nine more feet of radiator on every band the antenna covers, in a package the neighbors never notice. Already own a 20, 24, or 28 footer? Adding the whip is how you build a Skyline yourself, and a tilt base is what makes that a thirty-minute afternoon instead of a project.

Two Roads Up

Skyline is the free-standing road: a lightweight whip up top, no guy wires, the tall antenna you can live with anywhere on the lot. Operators who want full 2 inch tube from ground to tip, matched elements for phasing a 4-Square on up to a 9-Circle array, or heights past 37 feet should look at the Experimental Line, which is guyed. Similar heights, similar prices, different architecture. The choice is yours. Questions on which road fits your QTH? Call Jon, KL2A, 435-200-4902. A real person answers. Ham Radio is fun again. Pass it on. 73
