Twelve new CommScope monopoles, 80 feet above grade, direct-embed. On dunnage now, not on a six-month lead time.
A utility ordered these for a high-wind wireless build and never used them. They are new, never installed, galvanized, stacked on dunnage in an Idaho yard with the hardware kits in sealed boxes. A custom pole this size is ordered months out; these load next week. $18,500 each FOB the yard, $16,500 each for three or more. A refundable $1,000 deposit holds one; the balance is paid by wire or check, and the pole is released when it clears. The yard has the equipment and loads your carrier — flatbed, rail, or ocean container. The haul is the buyer's cost; our partners at the yard run trucks of their own and can often deliver or quote it, so ask. Nobody pays for a monopole with a credit card, and we do not ask you to.

Direct-Embed: No Concrete Pier
This is the detail that changes the math. The drawing calls for the lower 13 feet to be set in an excavated hole and backfilled with engineered fill or 3/4-inch crushed aggregate, compacted in 12-to-18-inch lifts — the way utility poles go in. No drilled pier, no rebar cage, no cure time. An excavator, a crane for the two sections, a compactor, and a day. The contractor reads the geotechnical report and confirms the embed for the site; the drawing says so and so do we.
Who Needs An 80-Foot Pole Now
Wireless and broadband. This is what it was built for: a WISP, a rural fiber-wireless site, a county emergency operations center that needs a rated structure on site this month rather than engineered from scratch. Handholes, ground lugs, climb system, lightning rod — all on the pole.
Golf and sports netting. Driving ranges and ball fields hang barrier netting from exactly this: tall galvanized poles, direct-embedded, with attachment points up the shaft. Four or six of these on a range edge is a netting run, and they are here rather than on a mill schedule.
A real flagpole. A golf club, a dealership, a municipality, a post, a campus. Eighty feet of galvanized steel with a 10-inch top cap takes a truck and halyard and flies a 20-by-30 flag over the whole property. Commercial flagpoles at this height are ordered months out; these are on dunnage now.
160 meters. For the operator who reads this site: an 80-foot galvanized monopole, direct-embedded, is a superb shunt-fed vertical on 160. The method is in John Devoldere's ON4UN's Low-Band DXing — gamma or omega match at the base, the tower as the radiator, radials at grade. One pole is a 160-meter station. Two are a phased pair. Four on 1/4-wave spacing are a 160-meter four-square, and there are very few of those in the world because very few people have four rated 80-foot verticals sitting in a yard. Twelve of these is three of them.
How To Reserve
1. Add the $1,000 deposit to the cart. It holds one pole for you and it is refundable until the pole is released.
2. We call you within one business day with the drawing, the utility's stock sheet, and a freight quote to your site if you want one.
3. Pay the balance by wire or check. When it clears, the pole is released and the yard loads it onto your truck, railcar, or container. The haul is your cost; if the yard's own trucks can make the run, they will tell you what it takes.
