HOA Stealth Flagpole Antenna · 160–6M · No Radials · Made in USA

The 20' DXF — Full-Size Performance. HOA-Approved Elegance.

The DXF20 is the benchmark — the height at which the VDA design truly opens up across all HF bands, delivering low-angle radiation for serious DX work while standing as a property asset any HOA board will approve on sight. The Vertical Dipole Antenna design returns current through the lower element, not through the earth, significantly reducing ground coupling and removing any dependency on buried radials. Fly the flag. Work the pile-up. Zero conflicts.

Field Report

"Fantastic alternative to HOA Karens. I tested it with a 200mw WSPR transmitter and reached Antarctica, Australia, and more. OH! And I also got compliments on the overall aspect of the flag and flagpole."

The Physics

Why No Radials — and Why It Works

Traditional quarter-wave verticals feed at the current maximum at the base — pushing maximum I²R loss directly through soil. Every ohm of ground resistance sits in series with your radiation resistance, stealing signal before it leaves your yard.

The Greyline VDA is a vertical dipole. Return current flows through the lower element — not through the earth. This design significantly reduces ground coupling and removes your performance's dependency on a soil-based return path. Proper current distribution raises radiation resistance, improving efficiency without a single buried wire.

Structural Engineering

Built for Real Weather

The DXF20 is engineered to ASCE 7-10 structural standards. Federal practice: lower the flag when weather threatens. The flag-down rating is your engineering number.

Fantastic alternative to HOA Karens

I finally got around to install the Antenna... Err... Flagpole!
It's great! If the signal is around, the flagpole can capture it. I also tested it with my small 200mw WSPR transmitter on many bands, and I could reach as far south as Antarctica, Australia, and more. Awesome.
OH! And I also got compliments on the overall aspect of the flag and flagpole.
I am very happy, and I highly recommend it

20' HOA Antenna - Great Product

Excellent antenna. Made significant DX contacts over the past nine months. Straight forward installation with very good support from Greyline.

Quality Workmanship

I submitted a very positive review on the performance of my 20" flagpole but neglected to mention the high quality of the machining on the pieces and hardware. The pieces went together like a hand and glove.
Really appreciate the fine workmanship.

Fun Plus

Looks great and works even better. I hear more stations on my regular nets than I normally do. I used stone papers for a rectangular wall around the flagpole which matches the house. A beautiful, wonderful, addition to my hoa property.

Very pleased and impressed.

I got HOA approval, even though they require white fiberglass flag poles. I explained that while it was a genuine flag pole, it was also an amateur radio antenna that provided emergency communications if needed. Living in hurricane country, that thought that was a very good thing to have in the hood.
As for the technical details of the antenna, speaking as one who has built their own flag pole antenna, this one is a great design and manufactured antenna. The machined parts and hardware are first rate! The performance is superb. I’m FT8 ing points easily 1000+ miles on 20w. (20 meters).

I’ve tried to include photos, but can’t seem to…..
