Customer Stories, Pics, Audio, & RBN Signal Data

Greyline DX Vertical Antenna and DX Flagpole Antenna owners tell us that are working DX all over the planet, even the "magic band" and 160M too! Are you having fun on the bands with your friends and family? Now you can too at home or HOA.

Our customers are on all bands with one antenna, on every single frequency with the Greyline OCF line of antennas. The DX Flagpole for those wanting an elegant (and HOA approved) solution or the same antenna without the Flag (just as pretty and XYL's approve!) the Greyline DXV vertical dipole.

Stronger, Smarter, and more Elegant all band antenna options are now avaiable to you. Don't take our word for it, we have many customers writing in sharing their stories. See some of these below.

After using the Greyline 20’ OCV for several months I wanted to tell you how happy I am with its performance!

With a little tweaking of the installation, I now have matches of no greater than 1.8 to 1, 75M thru 6M.

Even with the poor band conditions, we are currently experiencing, I have worked some nice DX….Albania, Peru, Ecuador Brazil, Italy, Spain and most other European countries with great reports on 100 watts from the TS-890. Nothing too exotic yet but I have not really worked at it either.

In short, if I can hear them, I can work them even through some serious pileups.

I am particularly impressed (and surprised) with 6M performance. Have had good reports as far as OK and ME. Really looking forward to improving conditions as the next sunspot cycle ramps up!

Thanks for the great customer support and info!

"Yup, 80 years old and got it up by myself!"

"Put the MFJ Tuner on back of the shed; 100 feet of buried coax to the house. It tunes on all bands less than 1.5 (gets on 160 with little help and takes 1kW just fine!"

"My 20’ flagpole antenna installation is complete and on the air.

The performance so far is fantastic. 40 – 10 Meters are alive! Especially 30 and 20M Europe, Africa, Scandinavia, Russia, North and South America. FT8 on 10 to 30 watts.

"It looks great and performs great, compliments from several neighbors!"

I am going to order the auto disconnect as soon as I figure out if I can power it off my MFJ-993BRT.

I wanted you to know that I am a happy customer and am spreading the word to hams in my club and area about your great product!

The antenna seems to work as well as could be expected. It's hard to tell because the propagation is so bad! I have no other antenna up, so there's nothing to compare it with. I'm using an LDG YT-1200 tuner instead of the LDG RT/RC-100 as it gives a better SWR reading. I have had some good reports about strong signals from time to time. Here's hoping the propagation improves soon. 73s, Ron in NM

PENNSYLVANIA FARM COUNTRY HAM LOVES
THE QUIET BANDS & LOUD SIGNALS!

Let's face it. It's a simple vertical, right? Well, apparently not. This week we heard from Kevin who is now inspired to chase his Extra Class license! We are doing our best folks and we love hearing guys like Kevin excited again. Here's what he wrote:

flagpole antenna, diy, hoa antenna, ham radio, vertical dipole, hf vertical, 80-6, dx flagpole, greyline, n3vzi

"You're welcome. I love the antenna!

I installed it last weekend. Everything looks great on my external SWR meter as well as the radiometer.

Anyway, I made many contacts so far with great reports including Europe and all over the US. What really amazes me is how quiet it is for a vertical, my EFHW wire brings in a lot more noise with about the same signal strength as the Greyline DX Flagpole. I can hear weak stations that I would never hear on the wire antenna.

Very happy with the purchase! It looks great as well!

Thanks, Jon,
Kevin

P.S. This has given me the incentive to get my extra class. I been licensed since 1995 and lost interest along the way, but I have regained my interest and will have my extra within a month or two."

June 2019 Update:
"I’ll be taking my extra test at the upcoming field day!"
All in all, I still like the flagpole and it really shines on 20-meter dx. With 600 watts I can talk all over especially into Europe. 5-9 plus 10db signal reports from most contacts. With 10 meters opening up a little lately I’ve been using the flagpole there for short skip generally 500 - 800 miles. I also use it on 6 meter FM for local repeaters. It tunes and works there quite well. The main reason I like it is it doesn’t look like an antenna and my wife likes it as well when the flag is flying!
