Clean HOA Install: 12' Flagpole Antenna, Remote ATU & Solar Light | KC4OS

A Clean HOA Install: Bob’s 12’ DX Flagpole, Remote Tuner, and Solar Light

“Installation and testing is complete, works as designed. Thanks for manufacturing a fine product.”BOB, KC4OS
Bob’s 12-foot DX Flagpole, with the solar lamp and Old Glory flying proudly, sure looks good. A clean install with the remote tuner on the side of the deck looks very nice — and notice the underground plumbing too. That’s a beauty, Bob. Have fun DXing.
Why the solar light sits low: a flag light belongs at the bottom, aimed up — it lights the flag, meets the Flag Code, and keeps the top of the pole clear. And the remote tuner: with the tuner at the antenna, the 1:1 choke goes on the radio side of the tuner. Your RF System →
Work the World Like Bob Does
Bob runs the 12’ DX Flagpole — every band, 160 through 6 meters, with a tuner; no radials; the pole itself is the antenna. The shortest Greyline carries the highest wind rating, and every foot you add is more aperture on the low bands. Front yard or back yard, it looks like what it is: a fine flagpole.
“So pretty she let me install it in the garden!”
Funny but true: operators have ordered one for the backyard, dug the hole, poured the concrete — and then heard, “Honey, that looks very nice. Let’s put it in the front yard.” Have you ever heard anyone say that about a ham radio antenna before? We think not. Ham Radio is fun again!
