Send Us Your Signal Report | Award Logs, Maps and Stories from Greyline Owners
The Greyline Logbook
Chasing an award? Send us the log.
The best stories on this site were not written by us. They came from owners who worked something real on a Greyline and told us how. Bart, N1BRL, sent a map of 47 states on 80 meters. Chris, K1LDO, walked a Skyline up alone and then worked Franz Josef Land. Bernie, KB6FRD, broke a Hawaii pileup on 17 meters with 100 watts from a Nevada HOA. Each one became a Signal Report, with the physics explained alongside it, so the next operator learns something from the last one.
Worked All States, DXCC, a Sweepstakes Clean Sweep, a POTA milestone, a first contact after years off the air: if your Greyline was part of it, we want to hear it, and so does every ham reading The Signal Report.
Send Three Things
1. The log, or the map. A screenshot from your logging program, your LoTW or Club Log map, a photo of a paper log, a list of calls. Whatever shows what you worked.
2. One photo of the antenna. Up, in your yard, as it stands. Phone photos are perfect. If the flag is flying, even better.
3. Three sentences in your own words. What you were chasing, what the antenna did, and the moment that made it worth it. We will not polish your voice out of it.
Email all three to cq@greylineperformance.com with your callsign in the subject. An operator reads every one.
What Happens Next
We read it, we check the physics, and if it teaches something, we write it up as a Signal Report: your story first, then the teaching, then a pointer to the people who know more than we do. You see the draft before it goes live, and you fix anything we got wrong.
Your callsign goes gold on the Clubhouse roster, and we send you the finished page to post on QRZ or share with your club.
Our promise: we never publish your name, callsign, photo or words without your yes, and you can change your mind before it goes up. Bart asked us to change one line about his whip; we changed it the same morning.
The Awards Roll Call
Each month The Greyline Net asks about one award or event, because the hobby runs on a calendar. Sweepstakes in November. Worked All States through the winter nights. ARRL DX in February and March. Field Day in June. The 13 Colonies in July. CQ World Wide in October. If you worked it on a Greyline, that is the month to tell us.
No contest needed. A first QSO, a kid's first contact, a club net you finally checked into: those count too.

Not an owner yet, but working on an award from an HOA or a small lot?
Write anyway. Tell us the band, the goal and the yard, and we will tell you honestly what a Greyline would and would not do for it. Call 435-200-4902 if you'd rather talk.
