Feedline Hardware

Three ladder line spacers -- the same part that ships inside every Greyline antenna, sold as spares. They ride inside the tubing between the insulators and hold the two conductors of the ladder line apart at a fixed distance the whole way up.

Why the spacing matters. A balanced line only behaves like a balanced line when the two conductors stay parallel and evenly separated. Let them wander together and the characteristic impedance changes along the run; let them touch and you have a short at full power. The spacers keep the geometry honest from the feedpoint to the exit slot -- which is the difference between a transmission line and two wires in a tube.

Who needs spares. Anyone rebuilding a feedline kit, adding height with an extension, or restringing after a section swap. Three is the standard count for a stock antenna; taller builds and extensions use more. Keep a set on the shelf and a rebuild becomes an afternoon instead of a wait.

Assembly order matters: the spacers go on before the upper sections join. The assembly documents show the sequence, and the feedline kit walkthrough shows it with pictures.

Shipping included. Adding these to an order already in the build queue? Call 435-200-4902 and we will put them in the same box. Hand-bagged in Sun Valley, Idaho.
