Why Your Greyline Ships In Two Boxes

Three operators asked us the same question this week, in three different accents of the same worry: the poles arrived, but where is the rest of it?
Nothing is missing. A Greyline system always ships in two shipments, and here is the whole story so the second box never surprises anyone again.
What Rides Where
Box One -- the long freight box: the aluminum. Your pole sections and the ground post. It is heavy, it is long, and it travels by freight carrier, because parcel services do not love seven-foot packages.
Box Two -- the smaller parcel: the feed system, the RF choke, and the flag kit. It ships by FedEx, separately, because the freight carrier and the parcel carrier are different animals with different schedules.
Two carriers, two clocks. Sometimes the freight beats the parcel by days; sometimes the parcel wins the race. Both are on their way the moment your order ships, and both carry tracking.
One More Place To Look
Before you count anything as missing, look inside the pole sections. Long slender accessories -- the 9' DX Whip in particular -- often ship nested inside the top tube for protection. Two operators this month found their whip exactly there, riding first class inside the 43-inch section. The tube is the best shipping container we own, so we use it.
What To Do While The Second Box Travels
Dig the hole. The pole sections in your garage are the heavy half of the job, and the ground work does not need the feed system. Set the ground post, let the concrete cure if you are pouring, and read the assembly documents with coffee in hand. By the time FedEx rings the bell, you are a one-afternoon install.
