Stainless Hardware

Sixteen 1/4"-20 x 1/2" button-head stainless screws -- the two lowest joints of a Greyline HF vertical antenna, where wind works hardware loose first. 304 stainless, 18-8, fully threaded, 5/32" Allen. The lower sections carry the whole antenna's bending load in every gust, and a season of vibration is a season of loosening; this is the small kit for the operator who found a loose or missing screw at the base and wants the joints right before winter.

Doing the whole antenna? The 60-screw full kit covers every joint. Replacing an insulator? The Base Section Kit carries the insulators and their helicoils. And if you replace hardware with anything, replace it with stainless. How to tell what you have: 304 stainless is mildly magnetic, so a light pull is normal; plated steel grabs hard, and it rusts. Rust is the verdict.

The right way to swap it is written up in our assembly documents.
