A Greyline DX Flagpole is not an antenna dressed up as a flagpole. It is a genuine residential flagpole that flies a full-size flag, sized to the U.S. Flag Code and engineered to ASCE 7-10, and it is also a vertical dipole that works every band, 160 through 6 meters, from one feedpoint. The lower element carries the return current, so there are no radials in the lawn and nothing for a neighbor to notice but the flag.

Why boards say yes. HOAs approve flagpoles routinely, and under the Freedom to Display the American Flag Act of 2005 an HOA cannot bar a resident from flying the flag; it may set reasonable rules on height and placement. Which height? Tight lot or strict board: the 12' or 16'. Most owners: the 20' (Antarctica on 30 watts). Low bands matter: the 24'. The most pole the yard allows: the 28'.
