HOA Stealth Flagpole Antenna · 160–6M · No Radials · Made in USA
The 28' DXF — The Flagship. Maximum Aperture. No Compromises.
The DXF28 is Greyline's most capable flagpole antenna — the choice for operators who demand every dB the design can deliver. At 28 feet, the VDA achieves near 5/8λ geometry across the full HF spectrum, squeezing maximum low-angle gain from a single radiator. Return current flows through the lower element, not through soil, significantly reducing ground coupling and removing any dependency on a radial field. If you have the height clearance for 28 feet — this is the answer.
Field Report
"Made significant DX contacts over the past nine months. Straight forward installation with very good support from Greyline. Excellent antenna."

⚑ Flag-Down Protocol Note
At 28 feet, the flag-up wind rating is 35 MPH — follow federal flag practice and lower the flag when weather threatens. The 55 MPH flag-down rating is your ASCE 7-10 engineered structural number. This is standard protocol for all commercial flagpole installations at this height.
The Physics
Why No Radials — and Why It Works
Traditional quarter-wave verticals feed at the current maximum at the base — pushing maximum I²R loss directly through soil. Every ohm of ground resistance sits in series with your radiation resistance, stealing signal before it leaves your yard.
The Greyline VDA is a vertical dipole. Return current flows through the lower element — not through the earth. This design significantly reduces ground coupling and removes your performance's dependency on a soil-based return path. Proper current distribution raises radiation resistance, improving efficiency without a single buried wire. At 28 feet, that efficiency advantage compounds across every band.

Common Questions
Before You Order — Answered.
What's the current lead time and availability? +
We ship from stock on hand — same or next business day when available. During peak season we may carry a queue of 1–3 weeks. Current lead time is always posted on our Order Status page → — check there for the live picture. If you need a specific ship date, call us directly at 435-200-4902 and we'll tell you exactly where things stand that day.
How long does shipping take once it leaves Sun Valley? +
USA shipping is included, free. Ground transit to most continental US locations runs 2–5 business days from Sun Valley, Idaho. You'll receive tracking the moment it ships. International orders ship at competitive rates — rates are calculated at checkout. For time-sensitive orders, contact us and we'll explore expedited options.
What's included — do I need to source anything separately? +
Everything you need to assemble and mount is in the box. You supply coax and an ATU. That's it.
✓ VDA Radiator (your chosen height)
✓ RF Choke & Precision Feedline Hardware
✓ Ground Sleeve Kit — in-ground, tower, roof, deck, dock compatible
✓ Assembly Manual & Tuning Guide
✓ 7-Year Performance Guarantee
DXF Flagpole models also include: USA-made flag kit hardware, HOA Architectural Brief, and Property Integrity Letter.
Do I need an ATU — will my radio's internal tuner work? +
Yes, an external ATU is required. The VDA presents variable impedance across its operating range — that's how it covers 160–6M from a single feedpoint with no traps and no radials. Most transceiver internal tuners won't handle the full impedance range on every band. An external ATU resolves the match cleanly on all bands.
We recommend the LDG RT-100 remote ATU mounted at the antenna base for maximum efficiency for 100W installations. A shack-side tuner also works well — use LMR-400 or larger coax to minimize losses. Antenna + ATU bundles → are available at a meaningful discount.
Are there bundles or promotions available? +
Yes. Every antenna is available bundled with the LDG RT-100 remote ATU at a discount versus buying separately. Bundles include the complete antenna system plus the tuner. Antennas carry a 7-Year Guarantee, and ship in a separate box. Free shipping on all USA orders. Shop all bundles →
How difficult is installation? How long does it take? +
Most operators build the antenna in under an hour from unboxing. Dig a post hole (or use your chosen mount), build the antenna sections together (15–30 minutes), drop it in, run one coax, connect the ATU. The assembly manual walks every step. All stainless steel hardware comes pre-fastened to the antenna — no loose hardware to lose in the grass.
Assembly documents and installation photos are at Setup & Manuals → Questions during install? Call us at 435-200-4902.
What does the 7-Year Guarantee cover? +
Seven years of performance coverage — if it fails under normal operating conditions, we make it right. No questions asked. A customer's antenna fell in a severe ice storm and we sent a replacement immediately. That's the standard. Full warranty terms at 7-Year Warranty Policy →
